Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Second Opinion Oncology and the SOClarity platform (together, “Clarity”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By creating an account or using our website or app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What Clarity Is — and Is Not
SOClarity is an AI-assisted tool that helps you organize your medical information and understand your diagnosis and treatment options, with guidance reviewed and, where applicable, corrected by real oncology specialists. It is intended to help you prepare for conversations with your care team and, on paid plans, to connect you with a specialist for a more thorough review.
Clarity is not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis or treatment, is not a medical device, and is not intended for use in a medical emergency. AI-generated responses can be incomplete or mistaken. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your doctor or emergency services immediately — do not rely on this platform.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
3. Plans and Payment
Some features require an active plan (for example, Ask a Specialist or Expert Access, as described on our pricing pages). Prices, features, and availability are as shown at the time you activate a plan and may change going forward. Where a plan involves payment, you authorize us to charge the applicable fee; specific billing terms will be presented to you before you activate a paid plan.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for anyone’s medical information other than your own, without their authorization
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the platform
- Upload content you do not have the right to share
- Use the platform in a way that violates applicable law
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the medical records, documents, and information you upload. You grant us the limited right to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your medical information to train models on behalf of, or share it with, anyone outside of providing your care review.
6. Doctor Review and Communication
Depending on your plan, a licensed specialist on our panel may review your case, correspond with you, or prepare a treatment plan. That specialist is exercising their own independent clinical judgment; Clarity facilitates the connection and workflow but does not itself practice medicine.
7. Intellectual Property
The Clarity platform, including its software, design, and content we author, is owned by Second Opinion Oncology and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it except as this service is intended to be used.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated or if we reasonably believe continued access poses a risk to the platform or other users.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Second Opinion Oncology is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or website. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
